About the Author
J.E.S. Tomson
J.E.S. Tomson is a science fiction author whose imagination spans the galaxies. With a deep fascination for genetics, interspecies communication, and the vast unknowns of space, Tomson crafts stories that blur the line between scientific possibility and speculative wonder.
The Murkatz War series was born from a simple question: "What if CATS could talk—and what if they had something urgent to tell us?" That question evolved into an epic saga spanning multiple star systems, political intrigue, and the unbreakable bond between humans and their feline companions.
The human characters run the gamut from visionary bioengineering genius, animal loving veterinarians, cloak and dagger spies, stern military men, and strong government leaders, to sadistic dictators. Add to this mix an alien warrior prisoner-of-war whose love of drawing almost resulted in his death at the hands of his own people. His life was saved by a human.
A lifelong lover of animals - particularly cats - Tomson brings authentic warmth and personality to the CAT characters that are so essential to the series. Each CAT has a distinct voice, personality, and role in the story, from the far-reaching mind of HAZZ to the sharp intellect of MING.
A Journey of Imagination
"I started out wanting to write about an extraordinary woman and the cats she was elevating from animal to sentience through bioengineering. I ended up with the story of a war between humans, CATS, and an alien species who have targeted Earth for invasion. The aliens are feline humanoids just because my imagination liked the play of good CATS versus bad Murkatz. Imagination does as it pleases if you set it loose and go along for the ride. You meet so many interesting characters - both human and alien - and the world we know becomes quite a different place."
