The Humans
Humanity has expanded beyond Earth, establishing colonies on the Moon and Mars, and is mining in the Asteroid Belt. Royal families rule, political intrigue, power struggles, and fragile alliances define the political conditions within the solar system. Ambassadors, soldiers, spies, and scientists stand at the frontier of an uncertain future. And some humans are developing "gifts."
The CATS
Through genetic engineering and natural selection, certain breeds of cats - particularly the Siamese - have become much larger, learned to talk, achieved sentience, and developed telepathic abilities. Some can 'think-talk,' sensing other minds -including aliens - over vast distances. HAZZ and SAMI are among the most powerful. They are not pet cats, they are CATS. They have chosen to partner with humans.
The Alien Predators
Generations of predators, they travel in a huge fleet, searching for new worlds to consume. They come to kill to eat and to breed. They have no interest in colonizing, only consuming. Their scouts were not detected by humanity's technology, but by the telepathic senses of the CATS. The invasion is not a question of if - but when.
Genetic Bioengineering
The line between natural evolution and scientific intervention blurs. Genetic modification gave CATS their size and ability to talk; that led to sentience. But telepathy - that wasn't even considered. Now that ability may hold the key to defeating the alien threat.
Future Earth
Earth has changed after decades of plagues decimated her populations. New nations formed and now must prepare for planetary defense while political turmoil threatens to tear alliances apart. The Federation of Nations, the Suronese Union, and the remaining nations of Earth must face this truth: without unity between the nations - and between humans and CATS - the Earth falls.
